Update- Monday 12pm: All the winners for this contest have been contacted. Thanks to all of you who wrote in! I’ll be posting about the lucky users soon once everyone has been confirmed. If you haven’t heard back yet, you might still have a chance if the random winner doesn’t write in by midnight!
Update- Winners have been announced!
I want to officially celebrate a little milestone for this website: sometime in the last month or so we passed 100 registered users!
We’re currently sitting at 114! To celebrate, I’ve decided to share the love with something everyone should appreciate: Free comics!
I’m going to send out three volumes for this first TRO giveaway. I’ve settled on the History of the DC Universe, Showcase Presents Batman Vol. 1, and Showcase Presents The Justice League of America Vol. 1.
The first one is technically two prestige books and the others are big fat volumes that are good for any collector – new or old and grouchy.
This is how it’s going to work. One recipient will be picked randomly from the current registered users (as of this post, who has completed their registration/confirmation link/etc as of Monday 10/11/2010 at 11:59pm EST. If the first pick doesn’t respond in 24 hours, I’ll pick again, and so on.)
The second winner will be the first registered user to email me after this post goes up.
and finally, to be fair to all of you who just didn’t think to register yet (not knowing there would be perks like this), the third giveaway will go to the first unregistered user to register after this post goes up!
Once I’ve got the three people picked, I’ll contact you about figuring out who gets which book (I’d rather you end up with one you haven’t read yet or don’t have). Also, I’ll be covering shipping within the USA, which will either be first class or media mail, but can’t afford shipping out of the country – so you can try for this if you are overseas, but keep in mind that you will have to cover shipping.
Finally, these books are from my personal collection – they should be in pretty good shape, but I consider everything I own a “reading copy.”
I really appreciate everyone who has dropped by and participated in this site – it’s brought new life to my hobby and continues to be the most exciting thing I’ve worked on all year. Thank you.
And yes, this kind of thing is going to be a pretty regular occurrence around here – I’ve got more books than I know what to do with.
Well… that’s not true anymore – I know I’m going to be giving them away!

It’s getting better with your help :)
I’ll hopefully get around to moving those Enemy Ace books later tonight.
I think what might have confused me is that there was a recent mini that took place in WWII by Garth Ennis.

Enemy Ace is the hero of WW 1 and in WW 2 has only a couple of stories ;-)

I can’t believe this site only has 100 users. I’m going to throw the URL in some forum sigs and try to spread the word some more. The site’s such a great tool and is only going to get better. All comic readers must join!! Lol.

aw thanks. I haven’t been promoting much, honestly, because there is still so much that I want to do before I consider it remotely near done (like get marvel up, more covers, the wishlist feature, and getting the chronological sorting working) but having some users really helps me figure out what needs to be changed. the feedback is immensely valuable.
Once you’ve got your profile finished, feel free to link there on forums so people can see your collection! I think that’s my favorite part of that feature.
