My favorite current writer, and my favorite Flash. I wish Wally was showing up more in the current DC books.

Hmm, I’ve never really read any Flash before. Hopefully I’ll have the chance to now! Good luck to everyone.

To be honest, having so many different Flashes just turned me off. I was never sure of where to start and was always afraid that I’d end up mixing them up. That’s all behind me now, though.

haha, I understand. I think that Born To Run is probably a fair place to start overall, but jumping in here isn’t a bad idea either.

Geoff Johns has such an impressive body of work. His Green Lantern runs are my favorite, and I haven’t had a chance to check out any of his Flash, hope I get the opportunity!

I think this was one of his first major break outs. I recall it being a fan favorite, at least.

honestly I’m drawing a break on what he did before without looking it up, but this is where I first started recognizing the name.

Does he have a problem with deadlines? Because I only read trades I don’t often know which titles have had delays.

Wow, I was just looking to get into the Flash comics. This trade is a little farther ahead though, I guess.

Where would you start reading the Flash?

    [Reply]

Ian replied on December 6th, 2010 at 3:27 pm:

It’s actually not a bad place to start. You might want to read Flash: Born To Run first though, it is sort of a Year One for Wally West starting as Kid Flash (but more catch up feeling and less original story feeling.)

Oh man, this would be great. I’ve been trying to get into Flash lately, but right now I’m wrapped up in reading all GL/GLC trades from Green Lantern Rebirth to Blackest Night (a LOT of reading)

Geoff Johns is one of my favorite writers since I stumbled over Green Lantern: Rebirth. I’ve only read the The Flash Tie-ins of the Blackest Night, but it would be very (!) nice and interesting if I had a chance to get another piece of art by Mr. Johns!

Just got Born to Run in the mail the other day, and I just started subbing to the new Flash series, so this book would fit right in. Looks like another great giveaway from Ian! (Oh, I also got The Greatest Flash Stories Ever Told in the mail.) Good luck everyone!

PS I had just gotten those two Sandman volumes a few weeks ago, so I didn’t post in that contest. But congrats to the winner!

Wait, is it the Greatest Flash Stories Ever Told or Flash: The Greatest Stories Ever Told? Man those two titles are confusing.

This was one of my favorte runs of the Wally Years. The Flash is one of my favorite series of all time, and its hard to see it running infrequently in its current run.
