Up Down

First order of business for this afternoon’s update:

Congratulations to Duncanpr (Dan from Richmond, VA), who won the Joker Hardcover giveaway!

Dan, your book will be in the mail on Monday!

Next up, I’m pretty busy with working on the Marvel list offline, but I’m trying to do a bit here and there with what’s already up for DC.

I’ve added covers and publication information for the following ten books:

Green Arrow/Black Canary: A League of Their Own

Milestone Forever Book 1: Meta Fictions

Milestone Forever Book 2: Hardware Escape

Superman: Earth One

Teen Titans Spotlight: Cyborg

Enemy Ace: War In Heaven

Sgt. Rock: The Prophecy

Vigilante: City Lights, Prairie Justice

Sgt. Rock: The Lost Battalion

Sgt. Rock: Between Hell & A Hard Place

I also added the Sgt. Rock tag to his Showcase Presents volumes, because they were missing from his reading order list. I’ll have to double check the rest of the Showcase volumes to make sure they’re tagged.

As of this update, we’ve got covers on over 300 books! (around 350, I think.)

I’ve also fixed the design code so the little black border works around all the book covers on the timeline and individual database pages. Previously it was only working in blog posts.

Way to go duncanpr! I truly think you’ll enjoy the book. It’s a great story. I almost bought a copy at the two New York Comic Con’s ago, but ended up buying some classic 70’s Batman tpb’s. And definitely let us know what you think of it!

Ones released in the 70s? What ones did you get? I just got a couple little Timely books and I’m curious to learn more about older collected editions. There’s a criminal lack of info out there!

    Hey Ian,

Sorry, would have replied sooner but the school I work at has this site blocked as “Porn.” hahaha. Anyway, no, not tpb’s released in the 70’s, collections of 70’s issues. Namely, Tales of the Demon and Strange Apparitions. Steve Englehart’s work is great, and in fact I think he worked on Dark Detective which I also got at that particular Con. But that’s not 70’s work. Anyway, before my current all DCU post-crisis interest, I was solely interested in Batman’s history. So at the con I think I bought something like 10 books, all 50% off. Not bad.

Wait, what? Porn?? This is an educational resource! Give me the email of your school network administrator! (seriously.)

There’s some good stuff in the 70s. I think there’s also Batman stories in the Deadman collection. Have you checked that one out? One of my favorites.

I’m really curious about these little books released by companies like Tor and Tempo. Might do a blog post about them. I need to get my info together and add them to the database.
