Following up on our Black History Month feature Celebrating Milestone Comics, I’m proud to be giving away a copy of Hardware: The Man In The Machine.
It’s the first trade collecting the Hardware ongoing series, containing some sterling work. Obviously, the character is a bit of an Iron Man style superhero, but he brings unique sensibility and personality to the tin-man powerset.
The title is both enjoyably nineties and above much of the superficial nature that troubled superheroes of the era.

Hehe. Glad I’m not the only one who does that sometimes. Don’t you just hate when that happens? Especially if you’re on a budget, which I am. But anyway, it just goes to show you that you’re a good man, Charlie Brown, to give away trades like this. What a great idea this one is too, considering your previous post for Black History Month. I didn’t know anything about these books until I read your blog post. Great job.

This sounds pretty interesting. I didn’t really know much about Milestone before your post the other day, but now I’m pretty interested to check out Static Shock, Hardware, and the rest.

I definitely will. I was especially interested in the newer Static Shock trade since it has issues from both the original series and one of the newer series.

At the very least, a bargain, because the first edition with just four issues has gone up in price. I couldn’t help hunting down a copy anyway, a little while back.

Never really read any Milestone books, but I liked McDuffie’s work on Justice League (the series, not so much the comic).

I’ve wanted to pick this one up since it got reprinted. I’ve been told that it is one of Milestone’s best.

It was ok. I read some of it when they did crossovers with regular DC in the 90s

The crossover wasn’t really the top level stuff, I think. Those first few arcs though are great.
