After posting the 2099 Marvel Universe Issue Reading Order, I noticed that the “Read More” tag wasn’t working on the front page. Kind of annoying, since every time I post a long list like that it would bump the other recent blog posts down a huuuuuge amount! That would be ok if it was a long essay or something, but I think having a little read more tag is best for that kind of list – not everyone is going to be interested in whatever it is.
I managed to find a fix pretty quickly though. As John Crenshaw at Razorlight Media Explained:
“It appears that WordPress uses the global variable “$more†as a flag to tell it whether or not the “more†tag should function on a given page. By default it’s probably set for whatever page you specify as your blog’s homepage, but not the rest.”
The code he prescribed to solve the problem worked just fine!
