Say what you will about the orchestration of Infinite Crisis and One Year Later, these mega-events set the pace in the mid-2000s for DC Comics.
They were both quite controversial in their own right but there’s one thing it seems everyone can agree on about this particular era:
52 was beyond awesome.

If you don’t know this yet first-hand, don’t worry.
All-around geek site UnderGroundOnline (UGO) has teamed up with DC Comics to collect 52 Issues #1-5 completely free.
Although this story is by now as well known to veteran comic collectors as the destruction of Krypton, 52 was a weekly series about the year-long gap between the aforementioned Infinite Crisis and One Year Later, with each week depicted in real time (hence the name, you see).
Clark, Bruce, and Diana are all on temporary leave during this interim, and we find out how the era of superheroes could function in A World Without A Superman (or a Batman, or a Wonder Woman). Obscure heroes take the center stage, beloved characters die, and one heck of a story is told in the process.
And now, you can get a look at the first five weeks of what is sure to be remembered as the greatest comic event of the 00’s for free!
UGO also features day-by-day recaps of the first 19 weeks and bios on the most important characters to the series.
Just don’t blame yours truly if this makes you want to go out and buy all four trade paperbacks collecting the series.
That’s just the website doing its job.

I’d actually never heard of this UGO site before this post. It’s odd how many of their “news” articles are “Hey! Check it out! Hot Chicks!”
I mean, on a struggling geek news site, I might expect one “hot girls of marvel” list or something. I understand trying to get traffic for your advertising. But seriously it seems like 80% of the content on their front page is like that.

Yeah, UGO’s not one of my usual stops, either… I had to dig to find this. At any rate, you’ll be hearing from them at least one more time in this corner.

Hi there! I just wanted to ask if you ever have any problems
with hackers? My last blog (wordpress) was hacked and I ended up losing several weeks of hard work due to no backup.
Do you have any methods to protect against hackers?
